Ramón Marín's consequence-free sim from Critical Mass. You're an EST holder on Clarke Station. Fund missions, trade what comes back, vote, and watch Earth pull carbon for lūna.
Marín's briefing: the three constructs
Lūna
The Exchange's currency. It's credit backed by real assets and network capacity. Most of it is earned, not bought.
NFTs
Digital twins of physical things: cargo, ships, energy. They split into shares, pay investors automatically when sold, and are burned and reminted when resources are processed.
ESTs (exchange stakeholder tokens)
Governance votes, plus the power to issue credit. You can spend below zero, down to your seven-year average profit, and doing so creates new lūna. ESTs can't be sold. They're earned over seven reliable years and lost for unreliable ones.
CarbonExtraction contract
Anyone on Earth earns lūna per ton of CO₂ pulled from the air. It pays on a reverse bonding curve: less per ton the closer the atmosphere gets to 350 ppm.
Earth-side operators build direct air capture from HVAC parts and open designs. Every ton they pull earns lūna, and the payout shrinks as the air cleans up.

An unofficial fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Daniel Suarez or his publisher. Lūna, ESTs, the cargo NFTs and the CarbonExtraction contract are from Critical Mass; the numbers, missions and proposals here are invented for the sim.
